Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Finance Manager to serve as a strategic partner to our business leaders, driving performance through insightful analysis, strong financial stewardship, and effective leadership of a high-performing team.
In this role, you will own budgeting, forecasting, and performance management for your supported business unit, helping leaders make informed decisions that support both near-term results and long-term growth.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and lead a small group of direct reportsOptimizes business plans to drive business results based on sound overall business judgmentOwns Relationship with Plant & Finance HQ StaffsProvides robust internal and/or external financial analysis, consultation and decision support, ability to translate analysis ****** rule)Ability to lead people within and outside groupWillingness to listen to various opinions / issuesKeeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertiseSolves problems and develops new methods of analysis to streamline decision makingSearches out and corrects inconsistent data; finds and fixes root cause of inconsistencies, understands the driversCollaborates and coordinates information flow with other staffs and business units for optimal corporate decisionsPrepares, analyzes, and selects the best methods of presenting various data (reports, charts, diagrams).
Summarize findings in concise and creative ways.Develops and presents data and well thought out recommendations to key members or the organization, including executive management.Develop and utilize financial analysis tools to evaluate financial and business risksEffectively communicate up and down the organizationWork with sense of urgency to finish the assignmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in finance,
Accounting, or related field.English proficiency5+ years of progressive finance experience (FP&A;, business finance, corporate finance, or related areas).1+ years of experience managing or leading a team, including mentoring, coaching, or project leadership.Critical thinking and inquisitive mindFinance experienceUnderstand the business (a businessperson first, has an operating mindset)Problem solving and analytical abilitiesStrong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnershipsStrong oral and written communication skills (effective communications up/down/across the organization)Highly proficient personal computer skills, MS Office proficiency required.
Hyperion proficiency preferred.Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints (Fast/Responsive)Ability to network and collaborate cross-functionallyComfortable in making verbal presentation to GM Senior ManagementAbility to perform under tight deadlines (occasionally)Required CompetenciesDealing with ambiguity, building relationships, focus on results, ability to influence without controlThis position requires the ability to legally operate motor vehicle on a regular basisGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
