Position: Business Analyst –Products (Train / Transportation / Logistics) Duration - Long term Domain: Transportation/ Railroad / Logistics Location: On site - GDL Budget: 33k net + benefits
Responsibilities
Single point of contact for Railroad crew management system and primary liaison point to Business operations team, I.T. and processes related to crew management.
Actively seek out, collect, organize, and prioritize requirements.
Translating business requirements into technical narratives for development.
Liaising with business on requirements, development outcomes and improvements.
Performing process and systems impact gap analysis.
Preparing and setting functional and non-functional acceptance criteria input for test scenarios.
Assisting/Supporting in the release management process.
Validation accountability to ensure that the solution meets the business need/ Determines the most appropriate response to identified defects.
Develop abstract models that describe a business domain.
Establish and maintain effective communications with stakeholders and associated teams.
Co‐ordinate with offshore team for knowledge transfer and collaboration to ensure progress.
Adaptable to take calls with offshore teams and manage time zone‐based availability
Lead customer‐facing product demonstrations in English and Spanish, solution walkthroughs, and business workshops.
Strong documentation skills with experience in preparing business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories,
and use cases.
Assisting and reviewing native language translation.
Qualifications
4 to 8 years of experience in Business Analysis in the transportation/ Railroad / Logistics domain.
Preference would be given to candidates with deep domain knowledge of North America railroads.
Fluency in English & Spanish (reading, writing, and comprehension) is required for this role.
Exposure to railroad systems/operations is ideal.
Proficient in MS Office, with emphasis on Visio and MS Excel.
Understanding of data integrations between multiple systems.
A self‐starter, can‐do attitude – i.e. "What areas can I apply myself in and take ownership/responsibility and to be the go‐to person in those areas".
Flexibility – needs to be comfortable and effective in various roles ("wear different hats") as well as the ability to go broad and/or deep as needed.
Must be comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and be willing to make reasoned decisions.

An ability to quickly absorb business processes and systems that implement those processes
An ability to work with geographically distributed teams
Ability to engage with diverse audience from business users to CXOs
Proficient in presentations, written and verbal communication.
Ability to collaborate cross‐functionally with individuals in a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds and build strategic relationships.
