**Position Summary**:
Leads the implementation of lean principles throughout the organization. Works with management, customers, suppliers, and others to identify and facilitate key projects that will improve quality, reduce costs, improve cycle time, and provide the optimum benefits to customers and the business through waste reduction. Trains production teams in lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Takt Time Analysis, and Kaizen. Manages project activities including communication, project timeline, meeting facilitation, data gathering, data processing utilizing lean tools, and solution implementation and follow-up.
**Duties**:
Hands on execution of Lean transformation projects.
Delivers Problem Solving and Lean Manufacturing training.
Facilitate Kaizen events. Participates in and coordinates the development of event Charters and scheduling of the events. Works with departmental management to assure appropriate participation and support.
Plans, re-designs and organizes manufacturing facilities and production cells.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Technical expert in Lean tools and principles including set-up reduction, standardized work, value stream mapping, A3 thinking.
Perform cost/benefit analyses.
Presents, facilitates and leads assigned process improvement events using Continuos Improvement methods
Seeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean Enterprise information,materials,



and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management, and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement events.
Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits.
- Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements
- Develops reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.
- Assess manufacturing work flows and management systems. Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction.
- Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement.
- Active participation of the SAFETY, CONTINUOS IMPROVEMENT and TRAINING initiatives, which include but are not limited to: A3 Certification and projects, STOP Observations, Monthly Safety Audits, SQDC board maintenance, upgrade and administration of KPI for the area, propose and execute CIP (Cost Improvement Projects),



maintenance of LSW sheet, upgrade and maintenance of initiatives using Dploy system.
**Education Degree**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering General or Engineering General
**Required Experience**:
- Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline (Mfg EE, Engineering discipline, Process, ME).
- Requires 5-7 years relevant experience on lean manufacturing and/or improvement projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Enterprise principles and methods, team development and team leadership techniques, and project management methods.
- Lean certification from a recognized independent technical body.
- Operates under the direction of a CI Manger. Works independently in most situations.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
**Preferred Experience**:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
