**Position Overview**:
The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for following up on shipments and import—and export-related activities within the operation.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Import / Export Operations**:
- Coordinate the import and export of materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade agreements.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery.
- Stay updated on changes in international trade policies, tariffs, and regulations.
- **Suppliers and Logistics Management**:
- Communicate with Chinese parent company and other suppliers to confirm delivery timelines and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
- Negotiate terms and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
- Act as a liaison between the production team and external logistics providers to address any operational issues.
- **Material Planning**:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and components, ensuring optimal stock levels without overstocking.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure material flow.
- Analyze production forecasts and adjust planning strategies as needed.




- **Compliance and Risk Management**:
- Ensure compliance with Mexican, US, and international import/export regulations (e.g., IMMEX program, USMCA ).
- Manage duties, taxes, and other trade-related expenses, optimizing cost efficiency.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or import/export operations in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive).
- Strong knowledge of Mexican customs regulations, trade agreements, and the IMMEX program.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with international logistics processes and Incoterms.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP).
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- **Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal)**
