This position is primarily focused on development and delivery of high quality and engaging technical training programs (food safety, quality, regulatory, HACCP, General Standards) at NSF.
- Responsibilities: This position will be required to support training delivery and management of training projects as assigned.
- This position is involved in training program development, including updates, and is responsible for the provision of technical expertise for curriculum and content development.
- Through direct client interaction, this position will be involved in client learning needs assessment to determine learning objectives, training curriculum and appropriate delivery method.
- This position will act as the Head Trainer responsible for developing process and onboarding new trainers, providing technical updates, mentoring and performance feedback to both staff and IC trainers.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Qualifications: Post secondary degree/diploma in environmental health, food science, microbiology, or related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years industry experience in a food safety environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of food safety and quality management training, teaching or facilitation experience in an industry and/or post-secondary setting.
- Certificate, courses, or professional development in adult learning (or equivalent Train the Trainer qualifications, minimum 8-hour duration with certificate issued).
- Successful completion of a minimum 2-day HACCP training program based on either Codex guidelines or NACMCF HACCP principles with certificate issued.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of different GFSI certifications e.g., SQF, BRC, FSSC22000, IFS (related audit experience an asset).
- Knowledge of relevant prerequisite programs, industry codes of practice, legal requirements, industry guidelines and standards.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of GMPs,
food processing and HACCP systems, including a thorough understanding of HACCP principles, knowledge of HACCP systems and HACCP/Food Safety plan development.
- Development and maintenance of technical knowledge through on-going professional development affiliations and activities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Creative and Proactive.
- Strong leadership and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience with multiple training delivery modes, including face-to-face and online training delivery.Demonstrated project management skills.
