Essential duties and responsibilities
Inventory management : Maintain an accurate inventory of all tools, supplies, and materials, performing regular cycle counts and reconciling inventory records.
Receiving and shipping : Receive deliveries and verify the contents against purchase orders to ensure all goods are correct and undamaged. Prepare and stage materials for distribution to community projects or maintenance staff.
Storage and organization : Organize and store all items in the warehouse in a logical, accessible, and safe manner.
Record keeping : Keep detailed logs of all incoming and outgoing items.
Safety and cleanliness : Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
Equipment maintenance :
Perform preventative maintenance checks on all assigned material-handling equipment, reporting any necessary repairs to a supervisor.
Team collaboration : Communicate and cooperate with the team members.
Qualifications and skills
Experience : Prior experience in a warehouse setting, inventory management, or a related field is often preferred.
Physical stamina : Must be physically able to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
Attention to detail : A high degree of accuracy and precision is necessary for maintaining inventory records and verifying shipments.
Organizational skills : The ability to effectively organize and manage time and workload is essential for a fast-paced environment.
