The Production Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all production operations within a high mix sheet metal manufacturing operation, including
cutting, bending, painting, and assembly
processes. This role ensures production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities across sheet metal cutting, bending, painting and assembly.
Ensure compliance with production schedules, customer specifications, and delivery deadlines.
Balance capacity, labor, and equipment utilization across all manufacturing areas.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve flow and throughput.
Lead production supervisors, team leaders, and operators across multiple shifts.
Train, develop, and evaluate production personnel.
Promote accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement culture.
Support labor planning, overtime control, and workforce efficiency.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and control plans.
Partner with Quality and Engineering to address non-conformances and root causes.




Monitor KPIs such as productivity, scrap, rework, OEE, and on-time delivery.
Enforce all safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards.
Lead safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
Maintain orderly, clean, and safe production areas.
Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Coordinate with Engineering for process improvements and new product introductions.
Coordinate with Quality for non-conforming material containment and disposition, as well as corrective actions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Minimum
5 years of experience
in sheet metal manufacturing or metal fabrication.
Minimum
5 years of leadership experience
in a production environment.
Strong understanding of cutting, bending, paint, and assembly operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Hands‑on knowledge of sheet metal processes and equipment.
Ability to analyze production data and implement improvements.
