**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join the Insights Delivery team within the Nordstrom Analytical Platform (NAP). This role involves designing and developing scalable data solutions that support real-time, data-driven decision-making across the business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build distributed data processing systems that power key analytics and insights across the organization.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Design and develop scalable and durable data analytical solutions using in-house and modern cloud-based technologies in an agile environment.
- Design interaction between multiple architectural modules.
- Build distributed data processing pipelines in the cloud Big Data ecosystem with strong data modeling and engineering practices.
- Own and participate in code reviews, promoting software engineering best practices.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and testing tools to improve automation and reduce development friction.
- Troubleshoot and optimize performance issues across data pipelines.
- Define and measure quality standards across the solution.
- Provide ongoing production support and participate in on-call rotation duties.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to resolve incidents and production issues.
- Manage production notifications, alerts, logging dashboards, and cost optimization.
- Work closely with product managers, analysts, scientists, and tech teams.
- Deliver self-service BI solutions in partnership with stakeholders.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning.
**Role-specific Requirements**:
- 3+ years of experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java or Python.
- 2+ years of experience with databases, SQL, data modeling, and automated data engineering pipelines.
- Passion for operational excellence, scalable system design, and impactful business outcomes.
