The Demand and Production Planner
Huntsman is seeking a The Demand and Production Planner supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Mexico. This position will report to the Polyurethanes Mexico Supply Chain Team
Job Scope
The Demand and Production Planner is responsible for the planning related short-term horizon (0 to 3 months - S&OE;): For his/her markets portfolio, ensure supply plans support demand plans with the minimum inventory required. In addition, this position is responsible for the OMP long term analysis (12 months) according to lead times and production capacity. Communicates to operations the supply needs to execute demand plan and elaborate the production plan. Anticipate and inform proactively demand when supply can’t meet demand. It´s Is responsible for the inventory value at end of month and supports the inventory forecasting exercise for the next coming months. Mid/Long-term horizon (3 to 24 months - IBP): Ensure long term supply plans can support demand plan, escalate when constraints are foreseen.
In summary, as The Demand and Production Planner, you will:
MRP:
- Ensure the SAP MRP planning execution.
- MOP analysis and monthly update in SAP B1.
- Elaborate and maintain the SAP process and manuals.
- Update master data in SAP B1 for planning and scheduling.
- Daily and weekly delivery plan review and confirmation with suppliers.
Production Scheduling:
- Define the production scheduling daily and weekly according to the demand, production capacity and lead times.
- Validate and collaborate the production plan with the production supervisor to meet the customer demand for 2 weeks in advance.
- Ensure the monthly sales results through the correct production schedule and planning execution.




- Maintain the finish good inventory and raw material inventory according to the demand variations and cost optimization.
- Optimize production capacity and cost concerning head count, overtime, shifts, inventory, engineering changes. Otherwise, develop action plans to optimize resources and productivity.
Supply Planning:
- Own the global supply plan for her/his market’s portfolio.
- Align manufacturing and warehousing by creating a planning and production plan that provides clarity and alignment across supply-related functions.
- Ensure inventory is distributed efficiently and optimized.
- Zero stock outs through an efficient planning process.
- Highlight whenever supply cannot meet demand and provide alternatives.
- Deals with different sources of supply (manufacturing sites, procurement) and ensure supply plan is accurate and regularly updated to show properly volumes to be supplied on a 24m horizon.
- Maintain constant communication with suppliers to monitor direct Purchase Orders.
- Responsible for placing, updating, modifying and canceling purchase orders in SAP B1 requested by production and customer service.
- Keep the database of raw material and indirect suppliers updated manually and requesting the update from finance in SAP.
- Preparation and capture of requisitions for the management of national and import Purchase Orders for raw materials until the production line.
- Preparation and monthly sending of OMP to Geismar plant




- S&OP; weekly and monthly analysis to have agreements with sales and customer service about variations demand (increase or decrease).
Inventory:
- Owns the inventory of her/his market’s portfolio across the integral network.
- Ensure inventory is used in the most profitable way for the company.
- Highlight whenever inventory can be used in a more profitable way than the agreed demand plan.
- Regularly checks slow moving items and obsolete items and propose mitigation action plans.
- Ultimately gives projection for the next 18 m horizon of her/his market’s portfolio across the global network.
- Ensure write downs inventory reduction through the correct planning.
- Guarantee the disposal inventory reduction and forecast accuracy.
- Report to management and the US logistics team the stock and material in transit reported by Bulkmatic or any external warehouse (waste, differences in weight).
Blocked stock & returns:
- Ensure blocked stock of her/his portfolio gets treated in a rapid manner (dump, rework, sell back )
- Supports CSC on the return process and advise best solution for returned goods.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years Supervision and control of the S&OP; process
- Leadership in storage operations, clients and suppliers
- Completed career: Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Foreign Trade, International Relations Bachelor of the administrative or related branch.
Skills and knowledge
- High analytical skills based on data
- Problem solving abilities and attention to detail
- High digital literacy and high proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Excel, PowerBI)
- Knowledge of SAP B1 and SAP Atlas (inventory module), ISO 9001.
- Forecasting analysis
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, written and oral (80%).
