**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Review physician progress notes and medical documentation to determine the appropriate referrals and authorizations required.
- Submit authorization and referral requests to insurance providers and external facilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate with providers, clinical staff, and external partners to gather or clarify necessary information for approvals.
- Track and follow up on pending authorizations, resolving any issues or denials in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Provide support to practice leadership by identifying trends or delays in the authorization process.
- Analyze data and performance metrics related to authorization turnaround times using Excel and Google Sheets.
- Assist in the coordination of special projects and workflow improvements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Must have experience in the medical field, particularly in referrals, authorizations, or care coordination.
- Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) is **required**.




- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with mínimal supervision.
- Experience with insurance plans, medical terminology, and prior authorization procedures.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Prior experience working in orthopedic or specialty care practices.
- Familiarity with insurance verification, billing codes (CPT/ICD-10), and payer-specific requirements.
- Background in healthcare operations, compliance, or medical office administration.
- Knowledge of project management or workflow optimization strategies.
