**Position Requirements**:
Lead the comprehensive design, development, and production release of all BMS hardware components Safety Strategy, including master controllers, Cell Supervisory Circuits (CSCs), communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Bluetooth, WLAN (IEEE 802.11)), power electronics, and sensing circuits (voltage, current, temperature).
Based on upstream battery safety requirements, review and confirm detailed technical safety specifications and engineering designs for BMS and CSC assemblies, encompassing PCBs, wireless protocols, thermal fuses, circuit protection devices, wiring, terminals, connectors, and assembly processes (laser welding, ultrasonic welding, soldering, crimping, orbital riveting, labeling).
Demonstrate the compliance of BMS HW with ISO 26262 and other applicable standards.
Conduct in-depth circuit analysis, simulations, and worst-case scenario analysis to ensure robust, reliable, and functionally safe designs, adhering to automotive standard ISO 26262
Actively lead a review during which the Safety expertise team validates the deliverables.
Identify system safety validation activities and align on the Validation Plans.
Justify and explain the technical solutions required to ensure compliance with ISO 26262.
Compile a summary report including evidence of the scope’s compliance with ISO 26262.
Manage Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R;) through the complete product lifecycle, from sourcing approval to serial production.




Collaborate with Battery System Safety Leaders and cross functional team to validate the BMS HW Safety mechanism within the HV Battery Safety concept in order to achieve system design approval.
Work effectively within a team environment with a proactive attitude, demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills.
**Basic Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related electrical discipline from an ABET accredited/equivalent university.
8 years in product engineering electrical design, requirements and/or Safety
Experience in upstream requirement decomposition and workflows
Experience in establishing and executing sub-system Safety concept and automotive standard ISO 26262 and ASIL decomposition
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and with a proactive attitude.
Process-oriented, with high attention to detail.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Master's degree in electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent.
Direct High Voltage Battery or High Voltage powertrain experience in electric vehicles.
Proficiency with safety tool such as Medini
Proficiency with requirements tools such as DOORS and CANape
Experience using a disciplined system development process based on ASPICE or CMMI model
