Analyzes blueprints, sketches, and models and fabricates new molds. Conditions, modifies, and repairs molds, gauges, and fixtures for needed specifications.
**Job Requirements**:
- Interpreting blueprints, determining the machine operations and proper sequence of the operations as per the metal shape, size of the part, and the required specifications.
- Inspecting the quality of molds, wear, and damage, replacing them post repairs, and verifying the parts' alignment, dimensions, and clearance.
- Assisting with the problems related to production processes, methods used for fabrication, machine settings, and recommending solutions based on substitute material and the machine's ability.
- Supporting engineers to reduce fabrication costs by recommending alternate designs and techniques to improve the final design, enhancing the overall quality of the product.
**What your background should look like**:
Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related work experience. Requires completion of high school. Vocational training or an AA degree is preferred.
