**Test Laboratory Engineer with Knowledge in Reliability, Testing, and Calibration**
**Position Title**: Test Laboratory Engineer
**Department**: Quality Assurance / Research & Development
**Reports To**: Test Laboratory Manager
**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Reliability Testing**:
- Plan, design, and execute reliability tests to assess product performance under various environmental conditions, stresses, and usage scenarios.
- Develop reliability predictions, failure modes, and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Analyze test results, identify patterns of failure, and provide recommendations to improve product durability and reliability.
- Document findings in detailed technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- **Test Operations**:
- Operate and maintain advanced test equipment and systems used for mechanical, electrical, thermal, and environmental testing.
- Design test fixtures and setups to simulate real-world operating conditions as required.
- Perform static, dynamic, accelerated life, and stress tests in accordance with established protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test equipment, scripts, and procedures.
- **Calibration**:
- Ensure all laboratory equipment, tools, and instruments are calibrated regularly and meet relevant accuracy standards.
- Develop and document calibration protocols, maintaining logs and records for compliance with internal and external certifications.
- Collaborate with third-party calibration service providers as needed.
- **Quality Assurance and Standards Compliance**:
- Ensure test procedures comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, IEC, MIL-STD).
- Participate in audits for test lab accreditation and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a technical liaison with product development and quality teams.
- **Data Analysis and Reporting**:
- Analyze large data sets collected during testing using statistical methods and software.
- Create comprehensive test reports, graphs, and presentations summarizing test processes, results, and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance and insights during design reviews and failure investigations.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Test Engineering, or a related field). A Master’s degree is a plus.
- **Experience**: 1 year of experience in a test laboratory environment with a strong focus on reliability, testing, and calibration.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in industry-standard reliability and testing tools.
- Experience with instruments for calibration, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, micrometers, and thermal chambers.
- Knowledge of software-based test automation tools and statistical analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, MINITAB, or similar).
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ASTM, or equivalent.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Certification in reliability engineering (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer - CRE) or calibration (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025 certification).
- Familiarity with environmental standards like RoHS or WEEE.
- Hands-on experience with accelerated life testing (e.g., HALT/HASS).
