Join the dynamic team at Pace Industries, located in Saltillo, Mexico. The Process Control Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes through automation, data acquisition, and control systems design. This role ensures that production systems are reliable, efficient, and aligned with quality and safety standards. The Process Control Engineer works closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support capital projects. This position requires strong technical expertise in control systems, a hands-on problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role reports to the Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain process control systems, including PLCs, HMIs,



and data acquisition platforms- Troubleshoot automation and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime and ensure process stability- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute process improvements that enhance quality and productivity- Develop and maintain control logic and system documentation for manufacturing equipment and processes- Support capital projects by specifying control system components and integrating automation solutions- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all control system activities- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel on control systems and best practices- Monitor process performance and implement control strategies to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and maintain consistency- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations and equipment failures- Stay current with new technologies and trends in automation and process control to support innovation and system upgrades
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of experience working in process control, automation, instrumentation, or a related field.- Bachelor’s degree required in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.- Fluent in English- Ability to relate and communicate well with people at all levels in the organization- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, requirements and competing demands in a deadline driven environment.- Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical,



and strategic planning skills.- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.- Effectively and consistently carry out all responsibilities in a fair and respectful manner and in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.- Ability to build credibility and trust, while influencing leaders and customers.- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements- Requires extended periods of remaining in stationary position and computer use, while constantly operating a computer and handling office equipment.- Ability to visually perceive documents on computer screens.- Occasional positioning of the self and movement of up to 10 pounds may be required.- Work is performed in a standard office environment.- Occasional traversing across the office.- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.- Ability to observe details at a close range.
