Position Overview

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( ). We are seeking a Senior Tunnel Surveyor/ Tunnel Party Chief Surveyor for a construction project in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States .

Duration: Estimated 1 year, with potential placement on other projects thereafter for continuity.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise the tunneling survey team.
- Establish and maintain control networks within the tunnel.
- Conduct tunnel alignments, as-built surveys, and deformation monitoring.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams for layout and staking.
- Maintain calibration and proper use of survey equipment.
- Maintain detailed records and reports.
- Implement safety and quality protocols.
- Communicate effectively with project teams to resolve issues.
- Train and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

- Degree or diploma in Geomatics,



Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of underground or tunnel surveying experience, preferably in major infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with survey software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone.
- Ability to lead a team and work under pressure in confined environments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours.
