**New Projects Engineer**
**Area**: Metal Mechanical (Welding & Plating)
**Position Objective**
Implement the master plan for new projects defined by corporate engineering, ensuring proper industrialization at the plant level through coordination with engineering, operations, and quality.
Guarantee compliance with customer requirements in terms of timing, cost, quality, and documentation, including the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and execute new project development from design phase through PPAP approval.
- Analyze and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications to ensure technical feasibility.
- Define machinery, equipment, and tooling required for mass production.
- Design and validate tooling (fixtures, jigs), ensuring functionality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate pilot runs with Operations, Materials, and Quality departments.
- Prepare initial samples under standard production conditions and generate master samples.
- Document process parameters and set-up conditions to ensure repeatability.
- Manage production line transfers (including international relocations), ensuring installation and commissioning.
- Train operational personnel on new processes, standards, and defect identification.
- Participate in RFQs, cost estimation, and industrialization timelines.
- Update plant layouts and optimize production flow.
- Evaluate machinery capability (capability studies) to validate production feasibility.
- Ensure compliance with standards applicable to welding and galvanizing processes.
**Job Requirements**
**Education**
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
- Advanced English (required).
**Experience**




- 3-5 years in product development and industrialization within the metal-mechanical sector.
- Proven experience in:
- Welding processes (MIG, TIG, resistance, etc.)
- Galvanizing processes
- New product launches with a strong operational focus (not only documentation)
**Technical Knowledge**
- FMEA / Control Plan / PPAP / APQP
- GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Tooling design (fixtures, jigs)
- Lean Manufacturing / SMED / JIT / Kanban / Poka-Yoke
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- 8D problem-solving methodology
- Six Sigma / Kaizen
- Process validation and production trials
- Advanced blueprint reading
- Metal-mechanical manufacturing processes
**Software**
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD 2D/3D
- Advanced Excel (macros/data analysis preferred)
- ERP systems (preferred)
