For this position, HireHawk is recruiting on behalf of a U.S.-based employment law firm focused on identifying and supporting potential plaintiffs in employment and labor law matters.
About the Role This is not a cold-calling, telemarketing, or traditional sales role.
You will not be working from pre-built calling lists or expected to spend your day making outbound calls.
Instead, this is an investigative research position focused on identifying the right people through strategic research, data analysis, and information gathering.
Your primary responsibility will be to build highly targeted lead lists from scratch by researching companies, employees, and publicly available information across multiple sources.
You'll investigate California employers, identify current and former employees who may qualify for potential employment law cases, verify and enrich contact information, and develop scalable research processes that improve the firm's ability to identify qualified leads.

Identify current and former employees through investigative research using public records, online resources, professional networks, databases, and specialized research platforms.
Build targeted prospect lists from scratch rather than relying on pre-existing lead lists.
Locate individuals who may qualify as potential class or representative action plaintiffs based on defined case criteria.
Research, enrich, verify, and document accurate contact information using multiple data sources and verification tools.
Cross-reference information across various platforms to validate identities, employment history, and contact details.
Maintain organized and accurate research records within the firm's CRM and databases.
Design and improve repeatable workflows for employer research, people identification, lead enrichment, and contact verification.
Evaluate and recommend research databases, sourcing platforms, skip-tracing tools, AI solutions, and investigative technologies.
Test new research methods and measure which approaches produce the highest quality and most accurate results.
Deliver thoroughly researched and verified lead lists that support the firm's outreach and case development efforts.
Assist with additional online research projects, competitive intelligence, and digital investigations as needed.
Requirements Must Have Minimum of 3 years of experience in investigative research, lead research, skip tracing, due diligence, or advanced lead generation.
Proven experience building prospect or contact databases from scratch through independent research.
Strong internet research skills with the ability to connect information from multiple sources.
Experience using multiple people-search, sourcing, data enrichment, contact verification, or investigative research platforms.
Demonstrated ability to locate difficult-to-find individuals and validate the accuracy of contact information.
Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and written English communication skills.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently during Pacific Time business hours.
Nice to Have Experience with, background research, executive search, legal investigations, or plaintiff research.
Familiarity with California employment law, labor law, wage and hour claims, PAGA, class actions, or plaintiff identification.
Experience evaluating research tools and presenting recommendations based on accuracy, coverage, cost, and efficiency.
Experience designing CRM workflows, research playbooks, or scalable lead research systems.
Familiarity with AI-assisted research, workflow automation, and modern data enrichment technologies.
