RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and develop comprehensive cost estimates for various plant applications.
- Evaluate and analyze the design of each application to determine the most economical and functional systems, methods and procedures for manufacturing equipment.
- Provides assistance on major deliverables such as facility expansion, capital equipment acquisition and installation, major repairs and overhauls, plant design changes, and other issues related to best economic advantage and schedule.
- Coordinates activities with Product Development in the transition of new or rebuilt equipment and processes to the production floor.
- Procures all parts, contracts and equipment used to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Obtains quotes and coordinates with outside vendors and contractors on equipment installation and/or repair projects.
- Formulate and implement an effective preventive maintenance program.
- Oversees and expedites necessary emergency repairs to minimize costly downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Monitors inventories of machine spare parts,
materials and supplies to see that they are maintained at proper levels.
- Establishes, with direction from operating personnel, the priorities of all maintenance activities through the work order procedure.
- Monitors the completion of maintenance projects to ensure that safety and quality standards are met.
- Approves all requests regarding new parts, spare parts, supplies, machinery and equipment for the maintenance department.
- Oversees building maintenance activities, ensuring that acceptable and appropriate levels of aesthetic appearance are maintained throughout the company's facilities and building.
- Deals with and directly supervises employees of various skills (electrical, carpentry and mechanical, includes reviewing performance, maintaining discipline, resolving conflicts, scheduling overtime).
