Molding Process Engineer to be located in Saltillo, Coah.
at our Saltillo Technical Center.Under the direction of the Molding Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of plastic injection processing specifically related for APTIV's connection systems product lines.The Molding Engineer will Support on different process development for Conventional Molding, Insert Molding, Co-Molding (LSR + Plastic) for new and legacy processes.Being on a technical Center good Theoretical and experience in plastic in needed to Justify with Data new project during the process Estimate, Develop and Implement projects.
Empirical experience alone will not be enough, Deep understanding on Scientific molding is a must for this position.Molding Engineering ActivitiesParticipate in early product development with product engineers and estimatorsQuote peripherical equipment / updated quote list of equipmentSupport Tool build to resolve processing issues with Tool SupplierAudit tool supplier process definition prior tool moveBill of process owner for Part Process Certification in the regionBill of Equipment owner for SOW on IMM & Peripherical equipmentNew Molding Equipment Installation support and start up (Hands On Support)New project / New supplier evaluation and Release with purchasingNew Technology definitionPlant operation support / TroubleshootPlant Operation training for New engineers / Technicians (as needed)Audit Molding performance in NA facilitiesParticipate in product and tool design reviews, DFM, estimating process, ADP projects and General activitiesMeet key dates,
maintain through put and quality targetsPerform plans with focus and energy toward exceeding expectations and Ensure compliance with customer specific requirementsSupport plant tool engineers for mold improvementsSupport for OperationsCollaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.Support problem-solving activities (root cause, corrective actions).
Required Background (Must Haves)Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic engineering.Scientific Molding Training / CertificationDemonstrated ability to read and understand component/tooling prints and modelsMoldFlow interpretation KnowledgeInjection Molding machine maintenance troubleshootMust be willing and able to travel in Mexico or US (As Needed to support Tool issues and/or Processing or Tool Suppliers)Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem‐solving skillsEnglish Technical / Conversation is necessaryDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel / PowerPointPreferred Background (Nice to Haves)Proficiency with NX and in-depth understanding of GD&TAbility; to adjust to constantly changing prioritiesAbility to work effectively with people at all levels in an organizationStrong results‐orientation and execution characteristicsExcellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a teamAbility to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independentlyResourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environmentPrivacy Notice - Active Candidates: is an equal employment opportunity employer.
