About Bumble Bee MexicoBumble Bee Mexico is one of the fastest-growing seafood manufacturing operations in North America.As part of Bumble Bee Foods, we are building a world-class manufacturing facility focused on innovation, operational excellence, sustainability, and food safety.We are looking for an experienced Research & Development Manager to lead product innovation, process optimization, and commercialization initiatives while working alongside multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Position SummarThe Research & Development Manager will be responsible for leading product development projects, manufacturing innovation, industrial trials, and process optimization initiatives.This position plays a critical role in developing new products, improving manufacturing performance, reducing costs, enhancing product quality, and supporting business growth while ensuring compliance with food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.The role will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Corporate R&D; teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to commercial production.Key ResponsibilitiesLead new product development, product improvements, and innovation projects aligned with business and customer needs.Develop formulations and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, yield, efficiency, consistency, and cost performance.Plan, coordinate, and execute pilot and industrial production trials, supporting scale-up from concept to full commercial production.Provide technical support for manufacturing challenges, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.Conduct product validation through sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and evaluation of raw materials, ingredients, packaging,



and suppliers.Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, trial reports, validation records, procedures, and manufacturing instructions.Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and Bumble Bee quality and food safety standards.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in: Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Or a related discipline.Fluent English (written and spoken) requiredMinimum 5 years of experienceResearch & DevelopmentProduct DevelopmentFood ManufacturingProcess EngineeringQuality SystemsExperience in seafood, canned foods, protein processing, or thermal processing is highly prefered.Experience leading industrial trials and commercialization projects.Technical SkillsProduct DevelopmentFood Manufacturing ProcessesIndustrial Scale-upThermal ProcessingHACCPGMP Food Safety SystemsSensory EvaluationRoot Cause AnalysisContinuous ImprovementMicrosoft OfficeKnowledge of BRCGS, SQF, FSSC *****, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma is a plus.Why Join Bumble Bee Mexico?
