Learn how you can start or jumpstart your career with us. Qnity is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Reynosa site. Summary: Responsible for, but not limited to, performing the manufacturing engineering tasks necessary to efficiently manufacture quality products and maximize productivity through the creation or enhancement of equipment or processes to ensure total customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, rework, and process variation. Analyze production and KPI data (OEE, yield, scrap, downtime) to improve throughput, stability, and efficiency. Support new product introductions (NPI) by validating manufacturability, tooling readiness, and process capability. Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Process Flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, setup sheets) in compliance with IATF 16949. Conduct process capability studies (Cp/Cpk) and implement corrective actions for out‑of‑spec or unstable processes. Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA)
for internal defects, customer complaints, and audit findings, implementing robust corrective actions. Identify and implement low‑cost automation and poka‑yoke solutions to reduce human error and improve quality. Collaborate with Quality Engineering to reduce recurring defects, improve yield, and strengthen process robustness. Participate in cost reduction and scrap reduction programs, tracking savings from process, material, and layout improvements. Support APQP activities, ensuring special characteristics, customer requirements, and CTQs are properly controlled. Train and support production personnel while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements. Lead cost‑savings projects by identifying opportunities, developing business cases, coordinating cross‑functional actions, and tracking financial impact to closure. Requirements Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement – Ability to apply Kaizen, 5 S, waste reduction, and basic Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency and quality. Data Analysis & KPI Management – Skill in analyzing production data (OEE, scrap, yield, downtime) to drive data‑based decisions. Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis – Strong RCA capability using 5 Whys, Pareto, and cause‑and‑effect tools to prevent defect recurrence. Stamping Process Experience – Knowledge of metal stamping processes, including press operations, die functionality, material flow, defect modes, and process stability.
Quality Systems & Automotive Standards – Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and CTQs. Statistical & Capability Analysis - Ability to perform and interpret Cp/Cpk studies and support corrective actions for unstable processes. Documentation & Technical Communication - Skill in creating clear, accurate manufacturing documentation and training materials. Cost Reduction & Financial Awareness- Capability to identify savings opportunities, estimate impact, and track cost‑reduction results. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Effective communication and teamwork with Quality, Design, Maintenance, Suppliers, and Production. BOM & Routings Management -Experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings in ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate costing, planning, and production. Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field. 3-5 years of experience. Qnity is an equal opportunity employer.
