Position Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Purchasing Manager will lead and support their team of Buyers to ensure that they meet their goals and continuously improve their performance.
Responsibilities Lead the team of Buyers (8-10) in Mexicali
Set performance goals for the Buyers and establish actions plans to meet them
Manages the regional Buyer team including coaching, training, resource allocation, PTO, HR systems maintenance…)
Serves as the 1st point of escalation for expediting critical shortages for Operations.
Lead lean, cost savings and continuous improvement projects related to purchasing, space optimization, and inbound freight costs as required
Recommends ideas that improve effectiveness and efficiency of team to Director, Americas Purchasing
Reviews all purchase orders that require approval per Vertiv procedures to ensure SOX compliance
Responsible for ensuring that procedures exist and are documented to support Buyers’ compliance with Vertiv Procurement and Operations procedures
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or equivalent functional experience required
Strong leadership skills and proven track record of driving continuous improvement
APICS or ISM certification or evidence showing progress towards achieving required
Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with senior-level leadership
Excellent organizational, analytical thinking and multi-tasking skills
Detail-oriented and ability to thrive is a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and responsiveness
Strong understanding of cost management best practices
Proficient using ERP systems e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
