- Active student from any of the last 4 semesters of **Engineering**:

As a General Total Cost Ford Champ you'll be supporting cost reduction activities to make Ford more profitable and competitive in the marketplace,
playing a key role in helping to meet corporate cost objectives.
The main objective is analyze Ford and competitive vehicles/properties to understand component, system and architectural strategies based on vehicle and commodity teardowns.
The team generates ideas related to cost, weight, tooling and assembly time savings through part analysis and comparison.
**What you'll do**:
- Participate and Coordinate teardown activities and schedule
- Complete the weekly status report for our upper management and functional teams
- Review and follow up teardown process to understand assembly characteristics of each vehicle analyzed
- Compare and analyze parts and systems to identify opportunities of cost reduction
- Follow up data upload to IBP database
- Understand manufacturing processes and materials to identify cost reduction opportunities
- Follow up with Cost Estimating team on cost saving ideas
- Upload ideas to the CRID database
- Prepare One Pagers with the description of each idea to be presented with the functional team and program Chiefs
- Help coordinate part management for special studies
- Investigate latest state of the art technologies and trends in the automotive industry that could be implemented in our vehicles
- Search for new ways of simplify our designs to be more cost effective
- Understand what are the benchmarks of the industry in different commodities and systems (also, in manufacturing processes and execution strategies)
