Power Systems Engineer at BairesDev
As a Power Systems Engineer, you will maintain and evolve infrastructure built on IBM Power Systems. You will serve as a technical link between legacy reliability and modern performance, ensuring that mission-critical IBMi environments remain stable, secure, and optimized for enterprise needs.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute the design, implementation, and end-to-end support of IBM Power servers and IBMi partitions.
- Manage virtualization and system resources through HMC and PowerVM to maintain high-performance workloads.
- Develop custom business logic and system automations using RPG and CL scripting.
- Implement robust high-availability and disaster recovery strategies utilizing PowerHA or similar solutions.
- Optimize system management workflows by integrating and maintaining Fortra toolsets.
- Oversee proactive system health through regular patching, firmware updates, and performance tuning of IBMi environments.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in IBM Power Systems engineering or IBMi administration.
- Proven expertise in IBMi (OS/400) and RPG development.
- Proficiency in Power Systems administration, including PowerHA, PowerVM, and HMC.
- Hands-on experience with Fortra toolsets for system management and maintenance.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
