Job Overview
A Silicon Thermal Test Engineer, designs hardware and software test solutions to conduct advanced silicon characterization, including power and thermal performance, in industry-standard ATE platforms and custom test platforms.
- Develops thermal models for silicon, packaged parts, and test setups; conducts detailed thermal analysis for manufacturing, including effects of materials, layout, test methodologies, tester interfaces, and handler platforms.
- Designs and implements thermally safe power delivery solutions for NPI and high-volume manufacturing test platforms, including power supply systems, power delivery networks, and on-board protection circuits.
- Develop processes and methodologies to evaluate product testing thermal performance, gathers data and conducts reviews with cross-functional teams, and drives resolution of identified thermal issues.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to determine product and test thermal requirements ensuring compatibility with manufacturing test platforms.
- Proposes and evaluates effective solutions to thermal issues, including on-chip and off-chip strategies, developing experiments and prototypes,
intended to validate features prior to implementation in hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with thermal modeling, characterization, and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with thermal control and measurement equipment and hardware.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution network design in PCBs.
- Strong knowledge of operational amplifiers and analog circuits.
- Strong knowledge of digitizers and DSP.
- Experience working with common test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers).
- Knowledge of signal integrity and transmission line theory.
- Knowledge of Python, Java, and Linux.
- Precise communication in written and verbal form is necessary for success.
Preferred Qualifications
- PERL
- Advantest 93000 ATE platform.
- Semiconductor handler equipment
Education required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
