Sales Development Intern — Healthcare / Remote Patient Monitoring (Part-Time, Hybrid — Fort Mill, SC)

About OneCare Health

OneCare Health helps physician practices launch and run Remote Patient Monitoring programs — connected devices that let a care team track a patient's blood pressure, glucose, or weight between office visits, so problems get caught early instead of at the next appointment.

For the practice, it means better outcomes for chronic-condition patients and a recurring, reimbursable revenue line. For the patient, it means someone is actually watching. We handle the technology, the enrollment workflow, and the operational lift so the clinical team can focus on care.

We are based in Fort Mill, SC and we work with practices across the Carolinas.

Why this role exists right now

Medicare changed the rules in January 2026. For years, a practice could only bill for remote monitoring if a patient transmitted data on at least 16 days in a month, and only if a clinician spent 20 minutes managing it. Plenty of patients fell short of both, and that work generated nothing.

The 2026 fee schedule added new codes that pay starting at 2 days of data and 10 minutes of management time, and raised remote care reimbursement across the board. Practices that looked at RPM two years ago and decided the thresholds were unrealistic now have a completely different math problem in front of them — and most of them don't know it yet.

Your job is to go tell them.

The Role

You are the first conversation. You'll build the target list, reach practice managers and physician-owners, and book them into a real discussion with our team. This is a focused, vertical sales role — you'll get to know one market deeply rather than dabbling across many.

What you'll do

- Build and maintain a target list of primary care, cardiology, endocrinology, and internal medicine practices across the Carolinas
- Reach practice managers, office administrators, and physician-owners by phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Learn the reimbursement story well enough to explain, in plain language, what a practice earns and what it costs them in staff time
- Book qualified meetings for our team and prepare the briefing notes for each

- Sit in on the meetings you book, take notes, and debrief afterward
- Keep the CRM accurate — every touch logged, every stage current
- Report weekly on activity, response rates, and meetings booked

What success looks like Your primary metric is qualified meetings held per week — meaning the right practice, the right decision-maker, and a real conversation about their patient panel. We'll set a ramp target with you in week one and review it every Friday.

Healthcare moves slower than other markets. Gatekeepers are real, and a practice manager who says "send me something" is not a rejection. We account for that in your targets, and we will not judge you on week-two numbers.

What we're looking for

- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a business, health administration, public health, communications, or related program
- Comfortable picking up the phone. This is the single most important requirement and there is no way around it
- Patient and persistent. Reaching a physician-owner takes more attempts than reaching almost any other buyer
- Professional and warm on the phone — you are calling busy people in a stressful profession, and how you sound matters as much as what you say
- Clear, concise writing
- Genuine interest in healthcare. You do not need clinical experience; you need to care about why this work matters
- Based in or near the Charlotte metro and able to work from our Fort Mill office at least part of the week

Nice to have

- Any prior experience in a medical office, pharmacy, clinic, hospital, or healthcare call center — even as a receptionist or scribe. Knowing how a front desk actually works is a real advantage here
- Sales, fundraising, recruiting, or customer service experience
- Conversational Spanish
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) or LinkedIn Sales Navigator

What you'll actually learn here You'll be coached directly by the people who close our deals, on live pipeline. Nothing here is a simulation — the meetings you book are real, and you'll be in many of them.

- How healthcare actually gets paid for. You will learn the reimbursement side of medicine — CPT codes, Medicare fee schedules, what makes a service billable. This is genuinely difficult knowledge, very few people your age have it, and it opens doors across the entire health industry
- How to sell into clinical settings. Practice managers, physician-owners, gatekeepers, and the specific rhythm of a medical office. It's a distinct skill and it's in demand
- Digital health technology — connected devices, patient enrollment workflows, and how remote care programs are operated day to day
- HIPAA and healthcare compliance fundamentals , with training provided in your first week
- Weekly 1:1 coaching on your calls and emails, plus a written review at week 6 and week 12 against your target

Healthcare sales is one of the best-compensated paths in the industry and almost nobody teaches it in school. You'll leave here knowing how it works, with numbers you can point to. A note on how we sell

Remote monitoring only works when it's a real clinical service — a care team genuinely reviewing patient data and acting on it. We don't pitch it as easy money, and we won't ask you to. If a practice isn't set up to deliver it well, the right answer is to say so. We'd rather lose a deal than put a practice in a bad position.
