The Opportunity...:
You will be part of our DF&H; (Diversified Food & Health) division more specifically with our preservation team. This group has 70% of the canning industry through thermal processing.
**On a given day, you may**:
- Reviews Purchase Requisitions and MRP Reports and places Purchase Orders for goods or services that have standard costs.- Requests quotations for price and delivery for goods or services.- Reviews bid proposals and selects vendors.- Reviews and maintains delivery lead times, reorder levels, safety stock, etc.- Expedites Purchase Orders to make certain components will be available when requested.- Reconciles invoices.- Maintains procurement records. Compiles required Purchase Order documentation.- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with Inspection, Quality Control, Production, Engineering, Purchasing personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of non-conformance and takes corrective action.- Logs and maintains all Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).- Assists the Purchasing Supervisor and Buyers.
**Requirements for the role**- Associate's degree (A.
A.); or 2+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Previous Manufacturing /OEM experience preferred.- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); Access database knowledge desired.- Must have hands-on experience with Syteline or a comparable MRP II system.- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize and manage the daily workload in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work with mínimal supervision while still understanding when support is needed
- Strong supplier management skills
- Able to understand and drive key supplier/departmental metrics
