Startup Finance Lead (Part-Time)

Location: Remote – Mexico

Schedule: Part-Time | 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM Eastern Time

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Startup Finance Lead to partner closely with leadership in a fast-growing business.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting and reporting. We're seeking someone who has experience supporting founders, operating in startup or growth-stage environments, and helping build financial processes that scale. You'll play a key role in providing financial visibility, improving operations, and supporting strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do

Financial Operations & Accounting

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including AP/AR, invoicing, expense tracking, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and related systems
- Support monthly close processes and preparation of financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
- Coordinate with external accounting and tax partners

Financial Planning & Analysis

- Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports for leadership
- Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses
- Analyze profitability, financial performance, and key business metrics
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide actionable insights to support business decisions

Strategic Finance & Business Partnership

- Partner directly with founders and leadership on financial planning and decision-making




- Support investor reporting and fundraising-related analyses when needed
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and growth initiatives
- Help establish scalable financial processes and reporting structures

⚙️ Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows and reporting accuracy
- Develop and document financial processes and best practices
- Strengthen internal controls and financial visibility across the organization

✅ What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- 5–7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A;, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow management, and accounting principles
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Experience working closely with founders, executives, or senior leadership
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

- Startup, venture-backed, consulting, or high-growth company experience
- Exposure to SaaS business models and recurring revenue metrics
- Experience supporting fundraising efforts, investor reporting, or board reporting
- Financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning experience
- CPA, CFA, or similar certification is a plus

Compensation

Direct Contractor (Mexico):

$30,000 – $34,500 MXN net/month

Flexibility may be considered for exceptional candidates with significant startup and founder-facing experience.
