Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, digital marketing and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.
The Intelligence & Data Solutions (IDS) team at VCA consists of data scientists, analysts, and engineers who provide analytics solutions. Their goal is to leverage VisaNet, one of the largest datasets globally, to help clients enhance their performance and increase profitability.
As a **Big Data & ML Engineer Manager** in our **Intelligence and Data Solutions** team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing state-of-the-art data solutions to tackle complex business challenges. We are looking for a creative and forward-thinking individual who can see beyond problems and focus on innovative solutions. Specific Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the Machine Learning Solutions team to **automate** and integrate models into comprehensive workflows, ensuring seamless operation and standardization, and optimization.
- Enhance data engineering systems by **connecting diverse data platforms** across Visa’s technology ecosystem, utilizing advanced computing technologies for **performance optimization**through accelerated computing.
- Implement rigorous** data quality** checkpoints and develop **data governance** strategies to ensure reliability, consistency, and accuracy in data solutions.
- Translate complex data into **actionable insights**, driving innovation in data engineering processes, and **effectively communicate** complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Mentor the team on **best practices** in automation, deployment, and optimization, leveraging tools such as **Spark**, **Python**, SQL, and CI/CD **pipelines** (Azure DevOps, GitHub actions, Jenkins, Airflow, JFrog Artifactory, Kafka).
- Demonstrate **ML engineering knowledge** to effectively collaborate with data science teams, ensuring smooth deployment of machine learning solutions.
- ** Organize and document** data assets and engineering processes in a modern, user-friendly** metadata catalog** that facilitates easy search, discovery, and understanding to empower end users.
This is a hybrid position.

**Qualifications**
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in shell-scripting, Linux systems, and familiar with container-based apps like Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices and version controls systems like GitHub and open-source libraries and apps.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, innovation, and governance, and experience with data visualization and observability tools such as Grafana, Tableau, and PowerBI.
- Experience in Agile development environments like Jira, passionate about automation and data-driven solutions, with a background in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to explore uncharted territories to discover quick and effective solutions. A daring mindset that challenges conventional thinking and embraces innovative approaches to problem-solving.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese is a plus.
