We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and migrating enterprise network infrastructures from on-premises data centers to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is critical in enabling a secure, scalable, and performant network foundation during and after the cloud migration process.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Design and implement hybrid and cloud-native network architectures on GCP, including VPCs, subnetting, firewall rules, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, and routing.
Assess existing on-prem network infrastructure and define detailed migration blueprints aligned with business and security requirements.
Implement and troubleshoot connectivity between on-prem data centers and GCP, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
Work closely with security teams to implement network security policies, segmentation, and logging mechanisms in GCP.
Perform network performance tuning and optimization in the cloud environment.
Create detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and network diagrams to support operational handover.
Provide network support and resolution during migration and post-cutover phases.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
5+ years of experience in enterprise networking with a strong background in routing, switching, firewalls, and network security.
Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience with GCP networking services.
Deep understanding of hybrid network connectivity models, including Cloud VPN, Dedicated Interconnect, and Partner Interconnect.
Experience with IPSec, BGP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, load balancing, and firewall rule configurations.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, traceroute, ping, and telnet.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for GCP network provisioning.
Experience with zero trust networking, segmentation, and cloud-native security principles.
GCP certification (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Network Engineer) is a strong plus.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid network strategies.
Knowledge of SD-WAN, cloud load balancers, and edge security appliances.
Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for network automation.
**Soft Skills**:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
