We are seeking a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer with strong experience in on-prem infrastructure environments and hands-on expertise in migrating and integrating workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will play a key part in bridging legacy systems with modern cloud services, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable deployments.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Design and implement GCP cloud infrastructure with a focus on integrating with and migrating from on-premises environments.
Lead or support lift-and-shift, replatforming, and hybrid cloud initiatives involving compute, storage, and networking.
Work with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to assess current-state environments and create GCP-native architecture.
Deploy and manage cloud resources using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or gcloud CLI.




Implement secure hybrid connectivity solutions such as Cloud VPN, Interconnect, or Partner Interconnect.
Support GCP IAM, service accounts, VPCs, firewalls, logging, monitoring, and cloud storage strategies.
Perform system-level troubleshooting and performance tuning for GCP-hosted services.
Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automation in infrastructure provisioning.
Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and cloud operations best practices.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
5+ years of experience in systems engineering or cloud infrastructure.
2-3+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in production environments.
Hands-on experience with on-premises infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), bare metal servers, and legacy network/storage configurations.
Solid understanding of cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
Experience with VM migration from on-prem to GCP using Migrate for Compute Engine, Velostrata, or other tools.
Proficiency with Terraform, gcloud CLI, and shell scripting.
Familiarity with Linux administration, Windows Server, and Active Directory integration with GCP.
Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, GKE preferred).
**Preferred Qualifications**:
GCP certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect).




Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Exposure to Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and microservices architecture.
Background in security hardening, compliance, or cloud governance frameworks.

Effective communicator and collaborator across cross-functional teams.
Self-driven with the ability to lead initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
