About the team:
The Tax job family encompasses integral roles accountable for the design and implementation of tax strategies, policies and the tax governance framework. It also includes the provision of tax support to Diageo’s business divisions, delivery of projects to create shareholder value, and proactive management and mitigation of key tax risks.
About the role:
The Tax Analyst supports the Tax Business Partnering team by providing critical analysis, research, and insights to enable sound decision-making regarding tax matters. This role contributes to evaluating tax implications of business initiatives, monitoring changes in tax legislation, handling tax risks, and supporting internal stakeholders across functions.

The areas of the business you will support and who you will work with:
- Diageo Mexico has grown exponentially in the last few years. A total of 7 supply legal entities that produce and sell Diageo products in Mexico; USA and ROW with bold commercial plans on tequila and mezcal exports. Mexico is a very dynamic and challenging market and has one the most complex tax legislation and sophisticated tax authorities in the LAC region.- The Tax Analyst - Business Partnering role will be based in Mexico City and will report to the LAC Business Partner Lead. This role has no direct reports.- Finance / Financial Controllership / FP&A; and Treasury operational teams - Build and maintain working relationship in order to support the markets in improving overall tax management- Collaborate with finance functions as required to deliver end to end tax solutions- Tax Compliance, Reporting teams - Collaborate to provide high quality, timely tax activities and outcomes to the business- Governance & Change - Support delivery of changes / improvements- Tax Authorities - Contribute to the management of the relationship and discussions with authorities on tax audits or tax enquiries- External Advisors - Support the relationship with external tax advisors provide the relevant information to the delivery of timely, cost effective and value tax advice
Role Responsibilities:
What you will be responsible for:
1.Provide tax input and analysis to support business decisions, transactions,



and cross-functional projects in coordination with the Tax Business Partnering team.
2.Conduct research on local and international tax laws and interpret legislative changes that may impact operations. Summarize findings and recommend actions.
3.Assist in identifying potential tax risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
4.Support the preparation of documentation related to tax positions, audits, and internal reviews. Ensure timely and accurate internal reporting on tax-related matters.
6.Support initiatives to improve tax processes, reporting accuracy, and risk controls in partnership with the broader tax and finance teams.
7.Provide support to the market on tax audits and tax enquiries including working with legal to resolve any tax related disputes.
8.Perform administrative procedures before the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and other federal and local authorities in time and legal form (attention to requirements, fines, audits, request and obtaining tags), maintaining an extraordinary relationship with said authorities.
Experience / skills required:
The qualifications and experience you will bring:
- Accounting, finance or related qualification- 3-5 years of experience in corporate tax, tax advisory, or a similar role, ideally within a multinational environment or Big Four firm- Exposure to tax implications in business transactions and legislative research- Experience working with SAP, excel and reporting tools (i.e. Power BI)- English spoken and written (80% minimum)
