**Data Engineer - Independent Contractor**
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
**The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following**:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using ETL processes to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Implement data models and database designs that ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Document experiment findings and results with supporting summary statistics for peer discussion and review.
- Write production and deployment code, iterate on deployed models for optimal performance and inference speed.
- Real-time data processing and exposure to containerization and orchestration tools
- Understanding of linked data concepts and analytics methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems effectively.
- Experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data warehousing is a plus




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Performs other duties, research and special projects, as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)**
- Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computational Linguistics.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL, Pandas, and NumPy
- Knowledge in Database Modeling, Normalization, Indexing and Query Optimization
- Knowledge in data processing (batch, stream), ETL/ELT pipelines and CI/CD practices for data engineering
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skil**ls**
