**About the Role**
The Uber Payments Mexico (Institución de Fondos de Pago Electrónico) Finance and Operations team is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and enabling efficient payment operations within the country.
**What you'll do**:
This role reports to Uber Payments Mexico's (UPMX) Chief Financial and Operations Officer and its primary responsibilities are the following:
**Financial Compliance**
- Regarding the annual financial regulatory audit: 1) Provide information and evidence requests, 2) Monitor progress, escalating when needed, 3) Answer observation audits falling within the team's scope and 4) Coordinate the submission of the audit report and associated documentation
- Continuously assess risks
- Monitor capital. Recommend, if needed, capital increases and lead their execution
- Responsible for coordinating responses to inquiries from Mexican authorities falling within the team's scopeValidate and oversee initiatives that impact the entity's operations and financials, including guidance to properly launch those products
**Cash Management & Safeguarding**
- Oversee safeguarding account structures and reconciliation processesWork closely with Treasury and banking partners to ensure accurate handling of client funds
**Internal Control**
- Prepare or coordinate the submission of evidence materials to meet Financial Risk Controls of the entity + lead the annual exercise to update processes, risks and controls.
Present to the CFOO recommendationsContinuous improvement of regulatory processes and their documentation
**Team org + Controlling**
- Work hand in hand with the CFOO to define the team's priorities
- Strategic reviews of costs incurred by the fintech vehicle, periodic review of accounting balances (USGAAP & local GAAP), tracking of KPIs and actioning when needed
- Manage UPMX's budget + track spend MoM and its variance against forecastMain PoC regarding intercompany SLAs for Finance & Operations
**Projects**
Lead or co-lead critical, complex and cross-functional projects
**Basic Qualifications**
- +6 years of professional experience in finance roles.
- Logical approach to problem solving with solid basis in finance and accounting
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in influencing and aligning cross-functional teams. Strong ability to navigate organizational dynamics to build consensus and drive shared goals.
- Curious mindset and hands-on attitudeAdvanced English required
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Prior experience working in regulated industries or willingness to engage in regulatory conversations internally and externally i.e. be familiar with relevant legislation
- Familiar with the definition of processes and how systems work and interact with each other (high level) or willingness to learn
- Background in Fintech, Payments or Banking
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and programs.
