- Dow has an opportunity for an Associate TS&D; Specialist based in Mexico City (MEX), for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP;) business unit.
In this position, you will need conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields, along with general business knowledge gained through education or prior experience. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will exchange clear and concise information with key stakeholders across organizations such as Sales, Marketing and Quality, as well as collaborate with peers in the Technical Service organization in other countries and regions. You will be part of a regional team distributed throughout Latin America.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks,
and activities you would be responsible for in this roleDevelops value-creating solutions for the customer in response to presented problems with defined scope and impact- Supports effective investigation and resolution of customer technical complaints- Collaborates effectively; presents research project updates and demonstrates capability to influence audience with effective presentation skills- Contributes to projects to qualify existing products at a defined portfolio of customers, managed in partnership with a sales representative- Communicates and appropriately documents work in the form of internal reports/presentations- Effectively applies the scientific method to solve technical problems- Under guidance of senior colleagues, develops hypotheses, plans and executes effective experiments, generates reproducible data, interprets results, and modifies hypotheses appropriately-
- Participates in the generation of ideas and data to support the development of intellectual capital- Effectively protects Dow intellectual capital when working with customers through appropriate use of secrecy and JD agreements- Acquires understanding of Dow's technologies- Serves as an information resource for the project team and stakeholders
Qualifications and requirements- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a Science-related discipline.- Applicants should have a maximum of 24 months since graduation to be eligible for this position.- Availability to travel up to 30% of the time.- Driver's license- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.- The position is based in Mexico City (MEX).
