Position: Production Planner

Reports to: Production Manager
Position Purpose
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure customer orders and delivery commitments are met. This role focuses on optimizing resources, minimizing waste, and ensuring an efficient flow of materials and finished goods within the plastic extrusion operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, inventory levels, and plant capacity.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure availability of raw materials, spare parts, and auxiliary supplies.
- Verify and balance extrusion machine capacity and supporting equipment to prevent bottlenecks.
- Create, release,



and distribute production work orders based on priorities and delivery dates.
- Monitor daily production progress and adjust schedules in response to downtime, deviations, or priority changes.
- Work closely with Quality to ensure products meet customer specifications and requirements.
- Analyze key performance indicators (OEE, on-time delivery, scrap/waste) and recommend improvement actions.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance activities without impacting delivery commitments.
- Maintain continuous communication with Sales, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment and execution of production plans.
**Qualifications**:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
Experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in production planning, preferably in plastic extrusion or similar manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of plastic extrusion and manufacturing processes.
- Experience using planning tools such as MRP/ERP systems and advanced Excel.
- Inventory control and capacity planning skills.
- Data analysis and production reporting.
- Basic understanding of quality control processes.
