Mission
The NVH Project Performance Engineer leads Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) development for conventional and electrified propulsion systems across assigned vehicle programs. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Propulsion and Vehicle Engineering teams to ensure NVH targets are set, validated, and fully integrated into the final design.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Propulsion NVH Activities: Drive NVH development and attributes for conventional, hybrid, and fully electrified propulsion systems across all assigned programs.
Gate Reviews & Design Integration: Conduct rigorous NVH assessments at each program gateway, working closely with Design Release Engineers (DREs) to ensure necessary NVH enablers are incorporated into final production designs.
Vehicle Integration & Target Attainment: Support system- and vehicle-level integration activities to meet or exceed targeted NVH performance metrics.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary technical interface between the Propulsion Systems and Vehicle Engineering organizations for system-level NVH attributes.
Executive Communication: Synthesize complex NVH data and prepare clear, concise technical presentations for management and program reviews.
Profile
Position Requirements (Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical,
or other related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
- 3 years of NVH engineering experience
- Fundamental understanding of propulsion and vehicle system function and design.
- Hands-on automotive experience in propulsion systems NVH, in any of the following propulsion systems: conventional and Hybrid ICE, electric motors, gearboxes, power inverter modules and driveline (including axles, prop-shafts transfer cases etc.)
- Strong planningand organizational skills
- Demonstrated capability in effectively using NVH measurements and tools i.e., LMS Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics Artemis, Rotec,Mueller BBM, Matlab, Simulink
- Proven recordof demonstrating the ability to solve technical problems and addresscurrent issues in the fieldof Propulsion System NVH (conventional and Hybrid ICE, electric motors, gearboxes, and power inverter modules)
- Working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (FFT) and ability to work with electronic control modules (ECMs) and thelatest CAN communication protocols.
Position Requirements (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
- Prior experience leading product development at automotive OEM
- Ability to be extremely adaptable and embracechanges.
