Senior Payroll Analyst (Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon)
The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely execution of payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on Mexico. This role acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and system optimization, while driving continuous improvement and automation initiatives. The position partners closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure a seamless and reliable employee pay experience.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations
Lead end-to-end payroll processing for Mexico, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable regulations
Review and validate complex payroll calculations, including taxes, benefits, and other deductions
Compliance & Control
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor, wage, and employer obligation laws
Maintain robust internal controls and support internal and external audit activities
Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to payroll processes
Maintain payroll-related employee records in compliance with legal requirements
Systems & Vendor Management
Act as a key user for payroll systems (e.g., Workday, Meta4, Compaq, Excel)
Partner with HRIS and IT teams to test enhancements and troubleshoot system issues
Manage relationships with external payroll providers and tax authorities
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
Support digital transformation initiatives, including automation and employee self-service
Contribute to integral payroll standardization and knowledge-sharing efforts
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to HR, Finance, and business leaders on payroll-related matters
Mentor and support junior payroll team members
Address escalated employee inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
Qualifications:
Educatio n: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related fied
Experienc e: Minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience in Mexico; U.S. payroll experience is a plus.
System s: Strong proficiency in payroll platforms such as Workday, Meta4, Compaq, or similar system
Skills & Competencies
In-depth knowledge of Mexico payroll regulations, tax requirements, and best practice
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and reporting capabilitie
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business term
Project management experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts in business terms and fluency in English (both verbal and written
Proven ability to lead initiatives and work independently in a fast-paced environment
