Airswift is searching for a Sr.
Drilling Design Engineer
Location: Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico
Schedule: 48 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
Airswift is seeking an experienced Sr.
Drilling Design Engineer to join a leading operator in the oil & gas industry.
This role will be responsible for developing detailed well drilling programs, optimizing well designs, managing technical risks, and supporting the successful execution of complex drilling projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate detailed drilling programs based on engineering requirements and operational needs.
Lead well design and construction activities for conventional, unconventional, HPHT, and technically complex wells.
Evaluate casing designs, hydraulics, torque & drag, and drilling performance parameters.
Analyze well trajectories, collision risks, drilling objectives, and operational constraints.
Provide well design re-engineering solutions during drilling operations when required.
Assess completion strategies based on reservoir characteristics, geological data,
nodal analysis, and production requirements.
Review productivity designs, including productivity indices, fluid properties, formation damage factors, and production system performance.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, operations, and service providers to deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
Petroleum Engineering degree (completed and licensed)
Advanced English proficiency
15+ years of drilling engineering experience within IOC or NOC environments
Strong expertise in well design, well control, and drilling regulations
Extensive knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, fluids, and well design methodologies
Experience in Offshore, Onshore, HPHT, and challenging operational environments
Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, and stakeholders
Proficiency with specialized well design software
