Job DescriptionDesign, implement, and continually improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, safety, standardization, and product quality through the application of engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Support production by reducing process variability, increasing productivity, and optimizing operational costs.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess ManagementOptimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, and operational safety.Provide technical support to production in troubleshooting issues related to machinery, equipment, tooling, and processes.Ensure all required process documentation is maintained and updated, including standard work instructions, visual aids, poka‐yokes, startup sheets, and quality standards.Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to maintain process stability and equipment performance.Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, waste, cycle time, and production costs.Monitor process performance through key metrics and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools.Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions resulting from audits, internal issues, or customer complaints.Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with IATF*****, ISO*****, and ISO***** requirements.Maintain and update process and quality documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and engineering specifications.Collaborate with production supervisors to drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.Engineering ChangesSupport the selection, quotation, and validation of machinery, equipment,



and tooling for new projects.Develop and maintain PPAP documentation, including PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Layouts, Visual Aids, and Standard Operating Instructions.Verify manufacturing capacity through activities.Support tooling and equipment design activities when required.Train production personnel on engineering changes and new process implementations.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.Specialization in Manufacturing or Production Processes preferred.Experience: 0–2 years as a Process Engineer; automotive industry experience preferred.Language: Intermediate to Advanced English.Technical Knowledge: IATF***** Quality Management System.Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC.Continuous Improvement Methodologies, Line Balancing, SMED, Time and Motion Studies, Plant Layout Design, Production Cost Analysis, Basic AutoCAD or SolidWorks.Work ConditionsOn-site position with availability to work rotating shifts.Position TypeRegular.Additional LocationsNo additional locations specified.Additional InformationCooper Standard, headquartered in Northville, Mich.
