Role: Pattern / Mould Maker
Description of role
- Take receipt of pattern assembly technique from Design Department.
- Confirm pattern manufacturing route.
SLA pattern, Styrofoam pattern, sand print mould.
- Manufacture pattern as per route card issue number / rev number.
- If Styrofoam pattern is to be manufactured generate CAM tool paths using Autodesk Powermill.
- Transfer tool paths to CNC machines in Pattern shop and manufacture parts.
- If SLA pattern is to be manufactured,



complete SLA build set up using Lightyear and Magics software.
- Post build SLA clean ups.
- Manufacture running and gating systems either by hand or CNC machining referenced on route card and/or assembly technique.
- Assemble pattern and running and gating system and prepare for the ceramic mould department.
- Ensure all patterns have been measured by the CMM department prior to assembly.
- Operate 3D sand printing machine.
- Clean and prepare for casting 3D sand printed moulds.
- Raise NCR's when required.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
