Role Summary
Ancillary Equipment scope: Electronics, Controls, and Instruments + Sealing and wear components + C-items
You are a category management expert with experience in at least one of the following subcategories: Electronics, Controls, and Instruments / Sealing and wear components / C-items; as well as knowing the industry like the back of your hand you are well versed in the global supplier base; ethics and integrity are central to your being, and you have great interpersonal skills.
As Category Manager you will be accountable for defining and executing category strategies to provide a high‐performing supply base delivering the competitive edge required to support above‐market growth and industry leadership.
As the Ancillary Equipment Category Manager, you will be closely collaborating with Supplier Performance, Integral Sourcing and Division Supply Chain to deliver cost reduction targets, ensure contractual coverage and supplier base optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop short‐ and long‐term vision and strategic plans
Lead the de‐risking of supply chain for managed categories by developing strategies or initiatives to qualify alternate sources and break sole or single source dependencies, addressing any geopolitical, financial, and other risks as applicable
Evaluate new technologies for the team to develop and innovate competitive products
Establish competitive advantage through identification and generation of cost‐reduction strategies
Establish and manage Master Supplier Agreements (MSA) for core strategic suppliers
Develop and deploy comprehensive best‐cost sourcing strategies with the help of sourcing and supplier‐manager teams across regions
Supplier negotiation, market analysis, and cross‐functional collaboration to optimise cost, quality, and supply chain resilience
Competencies & Skills
Category Management/Supply Chain Experience at Regional/Global Level of 8 to 10 years
Appreciation in commercial and technical aspects of the named category
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Wide cultural adaptability, change‐oriented, stress‐resistant
Ability to work in a matrix and network organisational model
Good influencing capability and effective listening skills
Practice rather than preach mentality
Think global and act local mentality
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation
Supply chain project management skills: NPI, VaVe, DtV, localisation, TCO evaluation
Good understanding of latest technologies, market intelligence and trends in the industry
Experience in procurement, sourcing or category management in at least one of the following industries or categories
Controls, actuators, electric components, instrumentation
PCBA / electronics contract manufacturing and/or distributors, semiconductors
IoT, data centre components
Preferences
Bachelor's Degree in Business,
Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
Knowledge in Oil & Gas, Power, Industrial Market, Energy
Proficient in written and verbal English, second language a plus
Traveling 30%
Ariba or vendor management systems experience
Familiar with the Americas and Asia Pacific supplier base
