Your Mission, Roles And Responsibilities
The Technical Acquisition Engineer leads product design and development of complete seat, frame, and mechanism acquisitions, including customer interface and aligning designs with customer and Forvia specifications.
Deliver approved technical offers at Program Quote Review, including BOMs, CAD drawings, and PowerPoint presentations.
Collaborate with design, engineering, manufacturing, costing, quality, and purchasing teams across acquisition product teams to develop, review, analyze, optimize, and integrate designs into new seating applications.
Work with validation to develop test plans, review results, and maintain familiarity with test specifications.
Lead FEA activities as needed for new designs.
Lead customer engineering interface and technical presentations.
Engage with the integral acquisition network teams across NAO, Europe, Asia, and South America.
Recommend off‐the‐shelf products, evaluating trade‐offs of cost, timing, innovation, and performance.
Maintain communication with engineering teams in all regions.
Provide VA/VE ideas and continuous improvement suggestions for business efficiency and cost reduction.
Maintain database of core products and track innovation projects relevant to future acquisitions.
Develop and manage engineering budgets for assigned acquisitions.
Maintain customer data management (CAD, specifications, etc.).
All other duties as assigned by the company.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical, automobile, production, or polymer engineering.
1–2 years of CAD experience (CATIA, IDEAS, UG, etc.) and plastics design.
Good communication skills in English.
Knowledge of seating and related automotive domains.
Understanding of plastic part design, tooling, and CAD methodology.
