Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Planner.
Eaton announced on June 11, ****, that it intends to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company.
We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of ****.
The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices.
If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What You'll Do
This position is responsible for converting customer demand/requirements in SAP to production signals through a production plan.
This plan must be aligned to plant‐specific goals such as on‐time delivery, productivity, sales, DOH and past due.
This position is the main plant contact for the Customer Service Representative that handles the product families under the planning scope, and it can act as the planning lead backup, providing guidance to other planners.
Job Responsibilities And Authority
Follow MRP signals to create work orders timely to satisfy customer demand, achieve desired safety stock and maintain workflow on the production line in alignment with the Master Production Schedule.
Create and deliver a production plan and sequence to achieve on‐time delivery, sales and productivity.




Communicate and coordinate with product line supervisors/leaders and purchasing teams to ensure schedule attainment and recovery if required.
Monitor and report to the purchasing area on material shortages.
Communicate frequently and proactively with the customer service team to meet or exceed customer expectations and maintain an updated backlog status.
Follow up with production control status of work orders, investigate factors that affect schedules and modify the production plan as necessary.
Follow escalation process of potential issues related to on‐time delivery, sales and productivity and support action plans for short‐ and long‐term solutions.
Develop and participate (as required) in the negotiation process of Eaton claims (i.e., cost, time, rework, scrap, labor, sorting charges) with suppliers regarding non‐conforming material.
Support the NPI team as required.
Support the Planning lead and act as a backup for critical activities.
Support the quality standards for our customer‐specific requirements and certifications: ISO, IATF.
EHS Responsibilities
Separate hazardous waste from the common waste.
Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers.
Keep the work area contaminant free.
Do not waste water.




Report any activity that may jeopardize safety and the environment.
Identify and properly dispose of all chemicals that may contaminate the environment.
Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills).
Report the entry of new chemicals required for maintenance purposes to maintain an updated record and assure compliance with correct handling.
Contain oil spills and repair as necessary.
Qualifications
Education level required:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Administration.
Years and Area of Experience Required
3+ years of experience in production planning in an automotive manufacturing environment or similar.
3+ years of experience in MRP planning.
Competencies Required
Strong knowledge of SAP and Excel.
APICS certification (preferable).
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
