You will be fully responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle with minimal oversight—from initial technical consultations and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to mold tryouts, product homologation, and post-qualification production.This is a highly entrepreneurial,



profit-sharing-based role designed for a self-motivated executive who can independently scale a region into a meaningful revenue contributor and be comfortable working with a lean, tight-knit team.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Development and Business GrowthIdentify, target, and capture high-quality accounts within the automotive, electronics, consumer appliance, packaging, and construction industriesTarget IMMEX-certified Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers (Maquiladoras) to seamlessly leverage tariff-efficient import structuresDrive comprehensive pricing negotiations with both suppliers and customers, strategically managing the end-to-end quoting processSupport commercial development and technical sales for plastics/polymers, metallic components, and production machineryPrepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and project updates to clientsProject Management & Technical DevelopmentLead the end-to-end commercialization and technical approval process for raw material resins, custom compounds, and associated production equipmentReview, interpret, and approve technical manufacturing documentation, including DFM presentations, mold tryout reports, and final customer homologation dossiersProvide on-site technical support during customer resin trials, analyzing physical processing parameters and troubleshooting raw material behaviorManage complex engineering projects involving metallic components, fastening inserts, and auxiliary production machineryProcurement and International Supplier DevelopmentIdentify, develop, and qualify international suppliers, with a strong emphasis on Asian and US-based partnersConduct complex commercial and technical negotiations covering resin grades, pricing, and order quantitiesManage supplier homologation processes and ensure compliance with quality and cost targetsOperational SupportPartner closely with the CEO, the lead Plastics Business Development Manager in Brazil, the Supply Chain Manager,



and the Financial Controller to drive sustainable growthAct as the strategic eyes and ears on the ground in Mexico, mapping competitive landscapes and eventually hiring and managing sales agents as the territory expandsQualificationsMinimum 7+ years of experience spanning technical sales/business development, polymer project management, or procurement within the plastics sectorDirect experience at a trading and distribution company is highly preferredDeep understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of commodity resins and performance-engineered compoundsProven, active commercial relationships with established molders and OEMs in Mexico, with a demonstrated ability to generate revenue from day oneDirect experience operating within or selling to companies utilizing the IMMEX/FTZ/USMCA framework to ensure smooth execution of a port-to-port distribution modelProven experience participating in international supplier visits, global trade fairs (e.g., Chinaplas, NPE), and global supplier qualification workflows (particularly with Chinese and East Asian networks).
The ability to develop US-based suppliers is a plusHands-on experience with DFM, tryouts, tooling development, and customer approval processesDegree in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical/Industrial EngineeringA postgraduate specialization in Project Management (PMP certification), International Business, or Global Supply Chain Management is a distinct advantageComplete professional fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is mandatory.Fluency or conversational ability in Portuguese is a valuable corporate assetSkills, Competencies, and Personal AttributesStrong negotiation skills (technical and commercial)Proven client relationships in Mexico and a proven ability to generate sales day oneDeep knowledge of Asian (Chinese) business models and supply chain practicesExcellent project management and cross-functional coordination abilitiesResults-oriented with a strong cost-reduction and problem-solving mindsetAbility to travel domestically within Mexico and internationally when requiredProactive, autonomous, and customer-focusedStrong communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
