Job OverviewEnsure compliance with quality standards in manufacturing processes, guaranteeing that products meet customer requirements and applicable regulations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, optimize processes, and minimize Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ). Coordinate inspection, audit, and certification activities, manage internal and external non-conformances, and promote a strong quality culture through training and cross-functional collaboration.
Job RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesQuality Problem SolvingIdentify and analyze quality issues in production processesApply problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)Implement and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
Quality Reporting & MetricsTrack and analyze scrap, FPY, blocked stock, and internal/external rejectionsPrepare periodic quality performance reports and KPIs
Continuous Improvement & Cost ReductionLead CoPQ reduction initiativesIdentify process optimization opportunitiesApply TEOA and Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency
Non-Conformance & Supplier ManagementCoordinate responses to internal and external rejectionsLead supplier non-conformance notifications and follow-upEvaluate supplier corrective action effectiveness
Inspection & DocumentationDefine inspection characteristics per part numberReview and update quality documentation (PMC, QIP, CC, etc.)Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards
Certifications & New Product IntroductionCertify new part numbers according to AS9100Support MRB activities and non-conforming material dispositionLead Safe Launch activities for new products
Training & Customer RequirementsTrain operators on quality criteria and defect detectionEnsure compliance with special customer requirementsSupport customer and external audits
Engineering ChangesReview and approve engineering changes impacting product qualityMaintain traceability and approval records
SafetyReport unsafe conditions or actsStop any activity that may cause accidents, injuries, or losses
What Your Background Should Look LikeEducation & BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or related fields)Experience in manufacturing and quality environments (aerospace preferred)
Technical Knowledge & SystemsUse of measurement tools and inspection equipmentBlueprint reading and technical specifications interpretationQuality Management Systems: AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalentLocal quality systems: Traceability, Skip Lot, ALIS, PMC, QIPRTS, TECHS, DSDSAP, Microsoft Office, Minitab
