It is one of the leading European suppliers of driver controls (pedal boxes and parking brakes) and drives for fully automated opening and closing of rear lids and lift gates. Under the umbrella of Spanish automotive supplier Gestamp, Edscha services virtually every automaker with its products and know-how from 23 world locations with some 6,300 employees. The Material Planner will be responsible for ensuring a continuous flow of materials for production, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and supporting manufacturing schedules. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and coordination with both domestic and international suppliers. Key Responsibilities Material_Planning: Develop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules, customer demand, and capacity constraints. Create short‑, mid‑, and long‑term forecasts to anticipate material needs and prevent disruptions. Inventory_Management: Monitor inventory levels daily, analyze consumption trends, and adjust safety stock parameters. Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory, minimize obsolescence, and maintain optimal stock levels. Supplier_Coordination: Communicate delivery schedules, expedite critical materials, and resolve supply issues with domestic and international suppliers.
Track supplier performance through KPIs such as on‑time delivery, lead time adherence, and responsiveness. MRP/ERP_Execution: Execute MRP runs, validate system outputs, and ensure accurate master data (BOMs, lead times, order quantities). Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to correct discrepancies and maintain system integrity. Production_Support: Work closely with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure material availability for daily build plans. Participate in production meetings and provide real‑time updates on material risks. Data_Analysis: Prepare reports on inventory health, supplier performance, material shortages, and forecast accuracy. Use analytical tools to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Risk_Management: Identify potential supply chain disruptions, propose mitigation plans, and implement contingency actions such as alternative sourcing, schedule adjustments, or expedited logistics. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. At least 3 years of experience in material planning within the automotive industry. Intermediate–Advanced English (communication with international suppliers). Knowledge of MRP, ERP systems, and analytical tools. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
