Watlow is seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior Engineer to support our Sensors and Wire & Cable Value Streams.
This role is critical in advancing metallurgical expertise, optimizing thermal processes, and driving standardization initiatives across sites to ensure product consistency, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead metallurgical analysis and process optimization initiatives, including:
- Material selection for performance and durability
- Failure analysis and root cause investigations
- Microstructure evaluation and characterization
- Provide technical expertise in metal forming processes, ensuring process capability and material integrity.
- Engineer and optimize thermal treatment processes, including:
- Heat treatment and thermal cycling
- Continuous and vacuum furnace operations
- Thermal processing of special alloys
- Lead cross-site standardization initiatives for thermal process controls to improve:
- Product consistency
- Process stability
- Customer satisfaction
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers, ensuring:




- Clear written and verbal communication (Fluent in English is a MUST)
- Timely resolution of technical concerns
- Professional representation of Watlow engineering capabilities
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement and technical excellence.
**Requirements**:
- Strong background in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
- Experience with special alloys and high-performance materials
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Heat treatment processes
- Furnace technologies (continuous, batch, vacuum)
- Thermal process validation and control
- Experience conducting structured failure analysis and root cause investigations
- Knowledge of microstructural analysis techniques and material characterization methods
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
