Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in test automation, QA engineering, or release-quality engineering roles
Proficient in at least one programming/scripting language used for automation (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript).
Familiarity with test automation frameworks like:
Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium (UI)
Familiarity with quality gates, thresholds, and blocking builds based on test metrics or static analysis tools
Understanding of release workflows, including staging and prod deployment readiness criteria
Comfortable supporting daily/weekly releases and working in fast-paced environments.
Knowledge of smoke test automation and production validation tooling is a plus
Experience defining and tracking key QA metrics such as:
Test pass/failure rates
Flaky test identification
Regression counts
Strong analytical and debugging skills can investigate failures across logs, test cases, and environments
Analyze test failures from CI runs
Correlate failures with logs, environment configs, and upstream code changes
Differentiate between infrastructure flakiness, product bugs, and test issues
Skilled at creating detailed bug reports, reproducing defects, and communicating findings with developers and product managers.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional engineering, product, and release stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Gate software releases by enforcing test pass criteria and blocking unstable builds from progressing to staging or production
Work closely with release and DevOps teams to define automated quality gates for each environment and maintain confidence thresholds.
Analyze test failures, debug issues, and work with developers to ensure root cause resolution before allowing releases to proceed.
Continuously monitor test execution trends and improve test reliability, flakiness, and runtime performance.
Own and update test execution dashboards and alerting systems for failures or regressions.
Write and maintain clear test plans, traceability matrices, and documentation for high-impact release workflows.
Implement or recommend improvements in test data management, test environment stability, and test coverage expansion.
Participate in release go/no-go decisions, post-mortems, and root cause analyses for escaped bugs or release incidents
