Role's Mission
This role will directly contribute to the compliant closing of our accounting records primarily focused on revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and impairment analysis.
This role will focus on historical compliance to start, with meaningful impact across the business by working closely with commercial, product, engineering, and other teams to ensure proper revenue recognition.
This role will create and own policies and procedures around revenue, receivables, and impairment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in compliance with Mexican Fiscal requirements, IFRS, and GAAP related to portfolio matters.
- Responsible for technical accounting analysis on loan accounting and revenue recognition under IFRS.
- Responsible for the technical accounting analysis of loans receivable
- Responsible for technical accounting around charge offs and impairment
- Research and evaluate new technical accounting standards, prepare technical memos, and articulate positions with external auditors and stakeholders
- Act as a strategic partner to commercial, product,



engineering, merchant risk, credit, and finance teams by providing detail and guidance on revenue recognition considerations
- Manages and understands accounting implications of new accounting standards and establishes a process for frequent and appropriate communication with stakeholders
- Work with accounting team to ensure timelines for financial statement preparation are met
**Requirements**:
Must have
- 5+ years work experience in accounting, portfolio matters in a financial institution or FINTECH.
- Accounting, Finance or related field with significant experience in portfolio/accounting matters.
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS/GAAP rules
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and superior accounting skill
- Process and detail oriented with a constant eye toward improving processes
Nice to have
- Big four experience is desirable
